Now that there is an excellent Savegame Editor for this wonderful game, I think it be ggod now to think about Item editing.

It would be wonderful if you could instantly add sockets (gold especially) to your weapons and armors.

Typical maximum is 2 for armors, and 3 for weapons, although I've seen some uniques have 3 (armor), and 4 (weapons).

Editing other item properties like in Diablo 2 would be a wonderful bonus, but I think I'll focus first on how you add sockets. Anyone have any suggestions?

What, no one else thinks an character editor with an item editor would be a (very) good idea?

of course it would be a good idea, the problem is nobody so far seems to know how to make one :P

I think it's just going to take time until someone manages to figure out where the items are stored in the save files. Then it's trying to figure out what values each item and characteristics are set to. Then the easier part would be the making of the editor. The devs of this game don't appear to like people cheating.

For the record: the Item Editor works like a charm on 2.40. It's a great way to transfer items back and forth between different characters.

Hello...will the item editor change the weapon damage?if not how can one change the damage? thanks
