Option 2 now works wickedly for myself as well. Somewhere along the line the amount of research generated by the 1-turn research got bumped down though, I get to Lasers, and I'm only at 10,000/35,000 research. And if I leave that on, it seems to be stuck at 10k/35k, so it never advances.
He seems to be right, there is only 10k programmed for all techs while the latter ones require alot more.
Could you raise the amount in that trainer or something?
