I hate to rain on the parade, but Ostfront mods that do the above claims are and will continue to remain a work of fiction until tremendous work is performed in the way of modeling, texturing/skinning, and general data modification.
The modeling alone entails making the skeletons for every single unit in question from scratch down to the last polygon, accounting for their entire animation sets, and presuming you get all of it, you still have the task of getting it into the game in a functional form.
Then, once it's in the game, you also have to cover it, see skinning and texturing, which itself is a considerable task, for every single unit...
As a side note, the mod has publicly been on the drawing board since at least August of 2007... So while they have models of a few units here and there, the animations don't exist, which means the mod isn't even crawling yet, and it's been neigh on to two years.
Don't misread me, I would be overjoyed to see it and if anything have Relic themselves stop sticking it to the modding community almost constantly, but it's unlikely they are going to do much more outside of a possible COH2 title. So in the meanwhile the tools at hand are all that the community has, and while theoretically it may be possible if the object editor plays nicely with others, I'm not holding my breath.
