Does anybody know if the 1.6 retail/steam trainer work with a D2D version of the game?

It works somewhat. I originally downloaded the D2D version. With all the patches, Broken Steel and Point Lookout additions I have to wonder how much of the original is left. The trainer works for random lengths of time. Like 2 to 20 minutes depending on what you activate. Everything on the numpad digets is fairly stable for a longer length of time. Once you kick in No Encumberance, Perfect Conditions and Super Weapons you can crash within second. I really only wanted No Encumberance but, the game will not run long even if I only turn it on and nothing else.
I don't even use it anymore. I carry the Missel Launcher, Flamer and Fatman and plenty of ammo and hit F5 often. If things are getting hairy I hit the tilde and type tgm for god mode briefly. Doing it again disables god mode.
Give it a try and see how it works for you. Save often and you won't loose much if it crashes out.

The crashes might still be Windows Live related. As (I think) Pwizard mentioned in another topic; rename the .cat file named Fallout3.exe.cat to something else.
This disables Windows Live for the game. But on the other side, also achievements.
