At the start of chapter 3 I am not able to move the arm using the mouse. I can move left and right but no movement at all using the mouse on the gun arm.

you have to physically move the mouse on your pad towards your gun...hope that helps

The mouse does not move the arm in any direction. And when the bell rings, it does not allow me to grab the gun.
I have now resolved this issue, a free download of Game booster seems to have solved the problem. www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html?Str=download
