Can anyone advice me on how I can redeem myself and be allowed to worship in chapels again? At the time I am supposed to be a wicked criminal.

You must have killed somene innocent, stolen something or done any sins. To recover from this you need to go to a guard. And he will show his mean face saying "Stop you have violated the law...." and like that. When you get options, either select pay bounty (IF you have enough gold) or go to jail. If you select resist. You will be in a huge fight against them.

But if you do with you punishment, you records will be cleansed, but however the infamy will be as it is. Now just go to the chapel and recieve the blessings.

Actually, all you need is to not have a bounty and have a higher fame than infamy.
