    Try patching it to 1.6!

And remember that Fallout 3 is a Windows LIVE game so it crashes if you use a Trainer that is not mastered (Not talking about the CH trainers).

Also, disabling Xlive by renaming the Catalog (.cat) file sometimes seem to bring up crashes or freezes.

The game can run well even on cheapish PC's, I am running it on high and it runs well.
Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

Your PC should play the game fine.

I'm still using Windows XP Pro SP3 (32 Bit) and had no problems.

I do get crashes every 5 minutes too. It's a major pain in the ass. It ran better without ANY crash on my old Laptop with 2.0 Core 2 Duo and 7900GS card. Now with a higher end Desktop it keeps constantly crashing

Patched up to 1.5, idk what the problem is.

EDIT: Problem seems to disappear when renaming that one .cat file.

Hey, can you give me the EXACT name of the cat file? All I see is a file Fallout3.exe that Vista says is a security catalog file. A bit afraid to mess with that...

the real name for that file is fallout3.exe.cat
windows is cutting the filetype extension from the end of the name for some reason.
there should also be a fallout3.exe in the same folder, but i bet all you see is fallout3 - its the same deal, windows cutting off the filetype extension
Power does not corrupt, corruption comes from within.
