i have no idea if this will help you, but you can attempt to press F1 to activate the trainer once you are within the game rather than at the main menu. also if you are trying to run 1.4 spore trainer with galactic civilizations it will crash the game likely-

I gave your recommended approach a try, and while pressing F1 amid mission, it caused a crash to desktop.

I am currently running the Direct DL Pre-Order Version of the game. Could that be the issue?

trainer doesnt work for me, i downloaded the game from EA site, but when in game and i press f1 it does say trainer activated, but as soon as i push 1 option of the trainer it crashes back to desktop.

if you are getting instant crashes then there is a version discrepancy. our version of the game is store-bought retail disc-

Im getting the crash too, but I downloaded my game from the EA site.

Hi im new here and i was recomended here by a friend. Anyways i was checking out the differences between the retail disc exe and the D2D exe and there is about a 6MB difference so it would seem to me that you might need to make a different trianer for the D2D/steam/ea store version. If u need the D2D exe or anything related to the D2D version send me a pm to let me know caliber i would love to help in your trainer making in order to speed it up.

i had the same problem but i fixed it (some what) but for me it was when ever i approched a blue star i fixed this by going to a red or yellow inhabeted star and approching it saveing then trying to go to a blue it seemed to work idk why 🤔
p.s. the all bages doesent work for the D2D i dont know about the other 1s but i think 1 or 2 work
its 2 bad theat the store bought and D2D are different but i think the 6mg (or so) added to the D2D coud be for downlodeing new maxis misshons i have notested that i have more maxis misshons then when i got it (the 2et day it was out)
any way i hope you can find the time to try to redo a trainer for the D2D but i know with all the new releaces your going to have your hands full

I just bought another copy of the game, accept this time the DvD Retail as apposed to the Direct Download. It addressed the issue of the trainer crashing the game mid-mission or being stuck at loading screens. It also seemed to address several game bugs that were present with the DL Version (exp. no player missions being more than Level 15 difficulty).

Sadly this may be something all will have to consider if you wish to enjoy the Cheat Happens Trainer. In my opinion, for the faster leveling and since I always enjoy the epic feeling cheats can provide, I deemed it a worthy investment.
