Ok, I figured out how to get the script cheat to work on my retail version. Dunno if this works for the 2.0
after putting the script cheat files into the game's folder, you have to go through the following steps:
1. Enabling the Script Editor.
The Cheat Script only works if the Editor is on in game so lets take care of that first. While in game and not docked, go to Personal>Advanced>Change Name. Set your name to "Thereshallbewings" (case sensative with out the quotations).
If you get a huge lag spike when you hit the OK on the Change name box, then you've done that step correctly and the Script Editor will now be enabled.
Now dock up and save the game, after you've done that, load that saved game.
2. Loading in the cheat scripts.
This can be done while docked. Go to Personal>Advanced>Global Commands. This will open a new window, and at the top you will see 'Script Editor' Click it.
you will get a small screen which tells you the hotkeys for the script editor, but we dont need those so just press OK.
Now some random Bull will be spelled out typewriter style, wait it out because those that wait will be rewarded with Cheats :P
The only thing you need to click in the menu after that is 'Reinit Script Cashes' This will load in the Cheat Script.
Close the Script editor.
3. Opening up the Cheat Scripts Menu.
Now, go to Options>Controls>Interface. at the buttom of the Interface control List will now be a new fucntion named 'Cheat Menu' Bind it to a Key. I've found the Left Bracket Key to work just fine as it is a key that is not bound by default.
apply the change, and save the layout. now press the key you just bound and have fun.
NOTES:
Be careful what you have targeted when you press the cheat Menu button, the Cheat menu works on your ship but if you have something targeted, the cheats will affected the targeted ship.
Also, if you Enable a Cheat for your ship like say the 'God Mode' then it will only count for that ship. regardless of whether or not you in it, and the affect doesn't count for the ship you get into after that.
WARNING! The God Mode is not fool proof. Some missiles do enough damage to wipe your ship out in one hit. The God mode doesn't protect against that. Also, the God Mode CANNOT be enabled for your Space Suit.
