    Hello,

It has come to my attention that there are a few more features to this game then what's currently allowed. However, the only way to gain access to them is through some sort of home made program that will edit either those .dll files in the prototype directory or the profile.bin file which is in the my documents\prototype\.

Some of the extra features rumored for the PC which is not available is:
    -ambient occlusion
    -extra debris
Both of which is only found on the PS3 which makes absolutely no sense. Here is the link: www.gamezine.co.uk/news/game-types/action/prototype-ps3-graphical-feature-missing-from-360-and-pc-$1304073.htm

    -shadows
and a few others I can't think of. If someone out there is gifted enough to know how to either provide an easy to use program that would edit those files or know how to access the console and know the commands could you please show us?

    I think...Sony has payed for it ;-)!

    I play with the options:

    >force mipmapping
    >anisotrophic filter 16x
    >antialising 16xQ
    >DynamicRange forcing ON

I'll have a look at the enviroment... if that's possible, that I see less details than that, I'll be very angry, and hope for the first patch wich clears that mistakes from Activision!... Like the Tankmovementproblem = only WASD for the Directions and the mouse for the canontower only! Now it's like where you're looking at, you're driving to... that's not right! Of cause, the change of the directions wich are linked on the buttons changes too, if you don't look in the direction you're currently driving...how stupid...

For example... if you want to turn the tower to the enemies behind you, you have currently move your mouse and of cause change the buttons wich you're pushing to hold the direction you want to drive?!- Why is it so much complicated?

In every game, where you drive a tank or control the mechwarrior (-and mechwarrior is oldschool), you use the mouse for the look and the WASD-buttons for the movement-direction...but [W=forward, S=backward, A=left and D=right]=> "ALL THE TIME!"

Think there're more than visual problems wich they have to clear...

Thanks for the clarification on that CyberCore. It appears that this game was designed with game pad in mind from what you explained. If your or someone could at least give us a program that would allow us to tweak all these options (which should have been in game) it would be a life saver for this game.

    Side note:
I don't have the ability to force mipmapping or DynamicRange forcing (or I don't know how)

www.nhancer.com/?language=e is the tool for nVidia Cards and of cause "RIVA TUNER *v2.06*(-newer versions don't have all the options wich are needed for an automaticly overclocking by hardwareacceleration! I don't need MAXIMUM power all the time, especially not for simple tasks on the OS)"-that tool I'm using for overclocking. If you have ATi card(s) than you could try that tool:
www.computerbase.de/downloads/treiber/grafikkarten/ati/ is a german web-page but programs are sure multilangually.

    >>BUT note that: You should have a gfc wich supports those options, ok?<<

And I WILL throw one of my eyes on the ground and all the details - if there're more than on the pictures, then I'll load it directly up, I promise! There are then shown the differences, between the activated/not activated visualoptions/and PS3 details. At this time I don't know about changes on details, because I don't know about differences to the PS3 version before you tell us about them. I don't want to make/or have misunderstandings, ok?

..back in 30min to post the report...

Sry, I've needed more time... good in playing bad in picture/image - doings, but I hope it is sufficient for you.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>EDIT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
    Have a look at:"> Link <"
and now I got the nice textures too, after reinstall and installing from the directX from CD:
    "> Link <"
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>END OF EDIT<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

There you will see the differences a little bit... left side is without any activated options and right with:
    >Anti Alising "multisampling 16xQ"
    >AA "optimizeing"
    >AA "super- transparent optimizeing"
    >Gammacorrect
    >Anisotrophic filter "16x"
    >Screensynchronisation "application controlled"
    >Texturefiltering "High Quality"
    >Trilinerary Optimizeing "OFF"
    >Optimization of Anisotrophic "OFF"
    >-"- Sampeln "OFF"
    >Negativ LOD BIAS "PASSED"
    >DXT3 forcing "OFF"
    >Anti-Alising Compatibility "general compatibility"
    >OPEN GL Compatibility "general compatibility"
    >Anti-Alising Compatibility DX10 "Doesn't matter but general compatibility"
    >Mip-Map forceing "ON-Trilinerary"
    >High Dynamic Range (HDR) forceing "ON"
    >Conformant texture brackets "ON"
    >OPEN GL Configuration "Multithreading ON"
    >-"- Screenmodus "Optimized for One Screen"
    >CPU Multi-Core Support "ON-MultiCore"

    All by the nHancer v32.2.4.1.

    >>>>>>>>>EDIT<<<<<<<<<
I think the effects are unbelievable ... how clearly the buildings in the backround are... and they have more lightning windows...hehe.
The 2'nd pictures are ... without words... better shadow quality and much better surfaces... the tree in the backround on the left side doesn't have shadows on his root...hehe. The Stones look like more specularmapped... very nice, but much more less frames!
Without the use of the properties, I have about 120frames and after at maximum 60frames (rounded) - playable and liquid enough!
The picture of the PS3 - looks like better, but there are some mistakes on it - take a look more on the surface... there are doubled surfaces and abnormal cuts on it... I think that's a photo montage, I could do that with photoshop too.

I'm sorry that I haven't rebuild a szene like that in the fight with crashed cars, broken trees and thing like that - I couldn't shoot pics if I'm in the fight next to enemies...doesn't have time enough to take a shoot, lol... and that twice - that's impossible!

    CyberCore, thank you.

I use an ATI video card so I won't be able to force those options unless there is a program out there that does it. I am not sure which tool you are making reference to. I looked at the link and there are several drivers/programs there.

I wonder if this is a OpenGL or D3D game (if it matters at all)?

    Sidenote:
I wonder if using the profile.bin from the my documents/protoytpe
    &
    prototypeenginef.dll
from someone with a nvidia video card setup (who's already played the game) would add some of those features (besides the one's your posted so far)?

I don't know enough about ATi gfc's, so I haven't enough experience with the tools, but I'm sure that there're either the same or only "othernamed" options with the same functions.

This is defently the tool for overclocking: www.computerbase.de/downloads/treiber/grafikkarten/ati/computerbase_ati_bios-editor/

sidenote "overclocking can demage or destroy your hardware"

And this is the tool for the "advanced" options: www.computerbase.de/downloads/treiber/grafikkarten/ati/ati_catalyst_komplettpaket/
    *This is in english!*

Make a few pics of the opened tool, and if I could find some entries wich I know, I could help you.
But the options have to be modified for each game... so I make profiles for the games to keep the best framerates with the best visualeffect-or quality. For example:"If I play Crysis with that preferences, it will *stutter*-*hacking*-*laging* and have every kind of inconvenience, wich I forgot, lol.

It could also be, that your game is running with the *same* preferences, but only at/with the ATi-Catalyst, not as good as mine... or of cause much better than mine?!

The gfc's are working very different, and I don't know what "different" really means... I could not tell you it by the technical way, ok?
AND... (By the way) my answer about your question "D3D or OPEN GL" would not be better as the explanation to the theme "how are gfc's working?" is .

So... if I understanding you right - would you copy the profile-files from a nVidia gfc-User to your savegamedirectory, to increase the quality of visual effects?! Or/and you want to copy from this user some gamefiles to your directory for the same??
    - All I know is this: "That wount helps you even the slightest...!"
    >Because the gamefiles are BASIC files of the game wich communicate or work with the drivers - so nVidia drivers wount work with a ATi gfc. That's only principle and not the very right explanation of the working, but close.
    >The profile-files have the information of your keysettings and gamebased settings of visualeffects - wich could be the same (at my system all at the maximum), but that doesn't matter - because the gfc's are working very different with this settings, ok?
    >So the question is now "WHAT THE F*** makes a tool like nHancer able to change the visual effects and how does it make this!?"- it is now a quite simple explanation -> It overrides driversettings/and values with tested and working settings/and values, wich can increase the FOW=Field Of Viewing (for example) and that option is (for example too) called HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR), ok? But exactlier and more technically detailing this is not given with my knowing about that, sry.

I come back to the point of D3D and OPEN GL - The game could sure be programmed by one of that ways - or both, I don't know. I only know that the preferences wich I made, have taken effect and make the game looks better than with standard settings/preferences... but the preferences in the optionmenue of video-settings (INGME - Optionmenue) doesn't matter longer, if I use a tool like nHancer - the values are overrided and the settings are changed by the way the tool does it.
Ask a specialist about it, he could answer you, but I think that couldn't help you. Because you need the tool from the programmers to change that what you want at first, 2'nd you need KnowHow about using it and last but sure not liest - you need KnowHow about programming.
We all only could pray for a patch wich could change that...

...yesterday was taken by technical questions and answers (now in midnight) - wich used my grey cells in my brain, now my head is smoking - to discribe my friends things like that in german is difficult enough, but in englisch ... omg - lol ... I'm sorry about my spelling errors and gammatic mistakes... hope you understand that nevertheless ^^.

Good night... my eyes are burnig, my head is smoking and I'm not jokeing...

Thanks very much for the insight. If you don't mind could you upload those files anyway? It wouldn't hurt to try it even if I don't get your graphic detail.

hmmmm, I don't find the GRIenginef.dll??? I'ld make a zip file for you, but where I find the GRIenginef.dll???
