F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Message Board  

Use at own risk and please read entire post first ! Hello CH community. I hope this works for others and you have system restore turned on. Also my guess is single player mode only. I used system restore to go back to a date before steam updated Fear 2. Be sure to create a new restore point first and back up anything important just in case anything goes wrong. After i had gone back to that previous restore point I made sure that I had automatic update turned off in steam, (right click fear 2 in your games list while online, go to update tab and choose "do not automatically update" in the box below and close.) I always play in offline mode so i don't know about multiplayer, (with my messed up left side i always get my butt kicked online), started Fear 2 to check and it was still V1.03 so i was able to continue the game with my 1.03 trainer. that was yesterday and it's still working today. If you want to know about system restore go to www.tweakguides.com and download the Tweaking Companion for XP or Vista and find the system restore section and read it. There is an index at the beginning of the guide, just click on the right heading. I can only stress again do this at your own risk and only if you feel confident, after all everyone's PC is set up differently and something could go wrong. If you are not comfortable doing this I'm sure the CH gang will get a V1.04 trainer up and running very soon. Hope I helped some of you who want to keep playing Fear 2 and my thanks to the CH gang for great trainers that allow me with my physical disabilities to play and enjoy my new games.
