Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Message Board  

Hey guys. I just got RA3 and installed it and noticed that when I set the overall graphics output to "UltraHigh" that I get slowdown on my machine. Now I understand that obviously my machine isn't powerful enough but my here's the thing, I don't have that problem with CC3 or KW. I have both of those games set to Ultra High and it plays fine. Is RA3 really a more demanding game graphically? Whats the best way to fix this problem? Any suggestions?

yes, it is a very damanding game graphicly, I have a good comp and it still is slow graphics wise,

a idea might be to look into a better Graphics card, and some more ram.

GC enables the Graphics to look better and help your comp to be better

and the Ram will enable your Comp to be faster.

Yeah I been asking around and I have come up with just what you said. The Graphics card and Ram. I have a keyboard that shows the usage for the two though and when it was slow it showed that I still have room left. It was only at about %50 for both. I have 2 GB of Ram. That should be enough right? I do need a better graphics card. I only have the NVIDIA 8600 GeForce GT

2g of ram should be plenty, But try emailing EA and finding out what graphics card you need, we are in the middle of talknig because I have all the right stuff but game still slow :/

Ouch. Well thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I didn't go buy anything yet. What are they saying is the problem?

they say its something with my comp,

they told me to install a p;atch, but made just a lil bit faster,

I played a misson for 3+ hours, and the end it said my game time was 12 minutes :/

They have told me to email them the specs on my comp to figure this out further.

Oh geez, I hope that doesn't happen to me. I'll be worse than what I started off with.
