E3 2009: Halo Reach Announced
June 1, 2009 - Microsoft announced Halo: Reach at its E3 2009 Media Briefing. Bungie's Joe Staten introduced a brief teaser trailer on stage which showed a view from space of the planet Reach being destroyed, followed by the reveal of the game's title logo. The game will be released in 2010 and Staten announced that players who buy Halo 3: ODST will get access to the Halo: Reach Beta.

Two Spartans are heard in the video. A girl that calls herself Sierra 320 and a guy as Sierra 259. These two have never been mentioned before, since their numbers are above 150 they're most likely members of the second class of Spartan II's. The ones that CPO Mendez was mentioned to start training after John and his class graduated.

E3 2009: Halo: Reach A First-Person Shooter
June 3, 2009 - Console RTS fans will be disappointed to know Bungie's upcoming Halo: Reach project will in fact be a first-person shooter.
Gaming blog Joystiq got word of this important detail when they asked Microsoft Corporate Vice President John Schappert.
Schappert simply proclaimed "Of course it's an FPS."
Perhaps this means Microsoft is done experimenting with the Halo franchise and will be keeping everything FPS from here on out?
Frankly I'm glad it's not another RTS. Halo Wars was good but not nearly as involving as Halo 3. Watching things from above just feels like you're not involved in the action. An FPS makes you feel like an important part of the struggle.

That's assuming I check Bungie.net... which I don't. IGN is my game news site because it covers more than just Halo (like GTA).
