how do i unlock the rest of the upgrades for my farm? i have done all the urgent quest except for the lao and kirin. do i need to do those before they unlock?

you need to beat the lao first and then you could upgrade your farm. casting machine( needs 3 nets), insect thick 2, mining port 2, and bee hive.
