The retail version I picked up at Gamestop, installed the Steam version of the game.

It's entirely possible that it is steam that is blocking the cheats from working, and unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's possible to run the game without steam.

So did anyone ever get an answer for how to get past the church? Its the church is on fire and supposed to be rescue the people inside or something. Anyone get by this?

The church that is on fire where all the villagers are locked in. This is the last level of the game, Mission 12.
You can't save them. Try as you may to shoot the wooden front door down, but it's just a waste of ammo.
You have to kill all the germans when you approach the church, who are standing around the cars in front of church. Once you've done that. More germans come from the road that you came through. There's about 10 - 20 germans give or take that come to investigate the fire or just heard the gunshots after you killed their buddies.
After that, watch the cutscene, the credits roll and @ the end of credits, you'll see Violet standing in the fields in her lingerie staring @ a lutwaffe plane that's parked in the field.
Overall, it's kinda of ironic, that Violet can't kick down the door or shoot it down. Or even hotwire one of the german cars and crash through the front door.

Thank you...I shot all the guys and all that..and the ones from the road come..but the game never ends...

I am at the end of the level of butchers bay..

Killed the general .. and I got message stating that my mission is complete..

But the level doesnt progress after that.. can any one please upload the .. complete game saves.. as i am stuck and the next level wont load..

Please help... thank you for your time....
