"But wait." You say, "I saw Sgt. Johnson die twice now already. What's up with that?"
Well, think of Sgt. Johnson as being like Kenny from South Park. No matter how many times he dies he'll always come back. Why? Well, it's complicated.

one deciding factor would be what os you have.
if you have vista, then the mod advantage would be reduced because vista makes it very difficult to even access the in-game console which you will need to use a good number of the mods.
but if you have xp then the answer to your question is definately imo.
just use a little caution with the mods. don't try to get anything and everything. pick and choose some to begin with. i would also recommend getting them from tesnexus because they will generally have good detailed descriptions of the mods and also each mod will have a "comments" section where people who used the mod will talk about their experiance with it. this is where you will find out alot about any installation quirks and/or mod conflicts and usually ways to solve them.

Well I play Oblivion (PC) and have The Shivering Isles expansion. I don't even use mods though. But I think Oblivion is better in Pc than xbox. But that's only my opinion.

I use Vista and the console has never been a problem. I use it daily for all sorts of needs. So it seems to be a hit/miss with the console.
And if you have a high-end PC, Oblivion will look better than it would on a console. Even without the NE mod.

I have a mid-range laptop with Vista and Oblivion looks about the same as the HD console version. I do have a texture pack though, and my settings are at about 60% with minor lag. My console version works flawlessly (X360) as long as I don't try to make it lag. (as in dropping tons of items in a small room and casting a fire spell area effect 100).
