Does anybody know how to edit the religion side of this? Converting provinces to 100% of your religion is all but impossible.

Even if you went in and edited the startpos file to make regions 100% whatever religion, it would still drop back down as soon as a different religion's priest walks through.

I agree with the last post. When you conquer a province just demolish their religious buildings and build your own. If they don't have any religious buildings you may need to demolish an industrial building. You can always demolish the church later and rebuild the industry, once the region is mostly converted. It shouldn't take more than 5 years at most to bring the religious unrest down.

It is practically impossible to have anywhere 100% a single religion in real life, so why should it be so in the game?

I was kind of miffed that the game doesn't include any minor religions or the ability to change your state religion. I want a Calvinist Ottoman Empire or a Jewish Papal States or a Counter-Reform Catholic Sweden or a Muslim Spain.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

I did that (Jewish Papal State) in Medieval 1 TW

    Was rather funny.

The reason I asked is that in Medieval (and Medieval 2), 100% conversion was relatively easy. Build up churches (or equivalent) and train a priest (or equivalent). Leave it alone for a few turns and suddenly the entire population was practicing your religion.

Now, converting that last 10% can take more time than the Grand Campaign allows. Which makes 8 star missionaries as effective as 2 star clods.

Converting the last 10% is irrelevant as religious unrest disappears long before that.
