if you go to the naval_stats and mark the first column, you then have to press either the right key to move right or scroll one column to the right with the scroll list at the bottom. then eventualy you will come to a column witch states EITHER True or False, the 2ND column to the right of this one is the one you want, IT IS however unknown so be sure witch one you edit.

Hey Centclip, i tried what u said and this works man, messing with it even more, i found that almost every 3rd column with values of over 100 are possibly ship parts, i got my uss constitution with 2000 crew and about 50000 hull strength, 30 speed( although with this speed, ship can't turn on a dime anymore) i got my firepower up to 12000 which one salvo will kill a heavy first rate ( change all gun types to 42 pounder ). lol you should see my uss constitution vs 20 heavy first rates, slaughter . Only thing left for me is to increase the number of guns.

for anyone out there that wants a starting point for modding your ships, but you can navigate the pack file manager. Just go to unit_stats_naval in your db file. Open with pack file manager. Basically to get your ship super strong without worrying about making up numbers, take a look at 6th_rate_british_tutorial ships stat numbers, edit your ship with this ships stats and you will have a monster

Hey guys was hoping someone might have an insight on an issue that I came across modifying the naval units. I went in with my pack manager and changed the hull and firepower values for the 5th rate. I actually added a clone renaming it "5th rate nl" but now all my vessels have a hull value of zero. Does anyone have any insights?
