After you have all 120 stars the gate outside where the canon used to be neer the water east of the starting point will be open. Go in the cannon and blast on top of the castle. Go around to the back and find yoshi who will give you 100 LIVES .

no you cant ride yoshi he gives you 100 lives and jumps into the waterfall (although as soon as i got up there thats what i was expecting)
