modding files on Empire: Total War PC Message Board - Page 1

hey hows it goin?
i was just wondering if it is possible to mod the files of ETW.... i dont know which file to use as directory's to me in ETW are confusing and they are nothing alike of old total war series...

so heres my question..
a. how to unlock factions manually
b. how to modd units

thanks and good job on the trainer

I suggest you check out these forums:

Probably in the future they will contain the secrets to unlocking minor factions

thx for the info man....
and ehm yeh were screwed because steam is not letting to access those files and open em for some reason, the guys at the forums ran into those troubles... unless they release official tools forget about the modding and the mods ....

Its not Steam its Creative Assembly who wont currently allow modding. CA will be releasing tools for modding but no one knows when.

i think they did overall because they wanted to make it feel realistic... but there are trainers you can get for money etc for factions steam keeps those files strictly hidden lol... dunno why but it kind of puts a dampern on the game. Maybe later on when it given some time someone will find a way or release a saved game for you to download... :P

I hope they do release the modding tool in the next patch. But who knows when that will be . If it's like when they patched MTW2 , it'll be in 6 months or so. Hope not..
