Is anyone else really unhappy with this game, the map is way too complicated i can't see where my units are, it takes 5 mins for the end of turn complete even with cpu moves turned off, they have got rid of desc_strat why did they do that?

I think the game rocks, the simplicity was just lame in the other games. Dont get me wrong i love all of the total war games in the entire series. But lets face it, when youve played Medivel 2 total war for a while ( like say complete the campaign a few times) you just know what to do to win. Here the AI changes, the map is just great in my opiniun, places spread out, not just a piece of land with a casle and thats it, but farms and mines etc.

And it takes about 5 - 20 sec for me to change turns with cpu moves turned of and maxed settings. Playing the "Non - legal" vertion makes the game slow in global map.

I bought the game and i cant say i wasted any money but worth every little bit.

danielc88, you are partially right. I'm a fan of the total war series, and I spent all the last night trying to break the code of the game to obtain access to files like descr_strat. For what concerns the other issues, i'm sure we will soon be used to the new interface. Yesterday I bought the game and i was like , then i noticed the lack of console, the slow turn shift etc. and i was a little but today.... after playng a bit... again! Have fun!

edit: and I fully agree with spartanicus: none of my money went wasted!

Yea, i got it today and have played about half an hour on it so i guess i should give it a shot but i really don't like the map and not as spatanicus said the main playing map im referring to the small map on the bottom left, and slow turn shift is annoying im wondering if you can turn it off completely because it drives me mad, i appreciate theres a lot of factions but jesus.

On the contrary, i think its perfect but im an old TW player. I really love the research and new diplomacy system they put in the game. The new traderoutes is also a system that encourage you to fight on sea.

Sure it might be to advanced for new players but not for an old TW fan.

no less than 10/10 from me.

what bother me the most is the ****ed up ai desicions and the short campaign...only to 1799? iv barley made it out of Scandinavia and its 1722...srsly
there is no way in hell you can do a world conquer by 1799...
there has to be a way to reset the in-game date so it doesn't end there

As I understand it, the ability is in there to continue after 1799.
