I always get excited whenever a new TW game comes out... but for some strange reason i can never complete a campaign... Anyway...I'm turning over a new leaf... I'm going to complete Empire TW... and i'll even go back and complete Silent Storm.... ok... maybe not silent storm...*got a little bit ahead of myself there...that game is a killer*

I just need help finding those "Trade" spots your supposed to put your merchant ships on. I can't find any, even with the infinite movement.

Well, i just caught this thread and as usual when i see a thread that catches my attention i just have to come ou the shadows and talk lol..
Ok first off, the game is beautiful i payed the top end purchase aka special unit version and personally i can say its money well spent. why you might ask well for a e stale to me, i have been a fan since the original TW release and in the releases which followed up i gotta say not much changed in terms of game play, sure the suited up the graphics in rome/medieval 2 but to all intents and purposes it was the same as the previous games....
Now whilst im estantic with the new ship battles, i love the new map interface, the new trade and diplomacy and also the improvements to the ground battles. It is now a game that i can play more than 10 times, i really think they hit the spot this time round, my main concern is the multilayer issues but im sure they will get fixed in the first patch...
and also if im not mistaken the retail version uses games for windows live (Dead) Xd whilst the steam version uses steams mp servers. what i have noticed in the steam version is connectivity issues, and when games do connect there are frequent drops aka players getting force dropped from sessions not to mention the huge amount of lag on a stormy sea battle (possible memory leak).
above is the only real thing i have to complain about, the single player experience for me is super, i couldn't ask for much more.
The mod aspects of this game are huge also, e.g a possible india campaign or the forging of the British empire etc...
There really is just so much to do.
well that just about wraps up what i have to say all the best Dj
p.s HMS victory in 1vs1 battle *drools* Xd

Is anyone else dealing with very long load times also? Yes, Empire is an improvement over MW2, but I feel, they could of optimized the ai code, so that it runs faster then it currently runs, I'm seeing gta4 lvl visual and ai laggage at medium. It's good to make a game challenging, but not when it takes forever to load the game and forever to complete a turn, with 30+ ai countries. Also what's up with technology tree, how does 1 research the technology needed to build the next level of a building?
