How do I use the "unlock" code?

I get an error message. I have to "select" something? How do I do that? How do I use it?

Hit tilde (~), click on the thing you want to unlock and it's name will appear at the top of the screen. Type in Unlock. Enter.

In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
