Need for Speed: Most Wanted Message Board  

Hi guys. I am having this most wanted. It worked fine for the last 2 years, but now whenever i play for 5 minutes a blue screen comes saying that there is a problem with one of my hardwares. I have a GeForce FX 5200 which is enough for playing this game. But surprisingly it is working in my laptop. But I still want it in my PC. I have tried reinstalling my XP but still it is not working.Any suggestions.

Would this screen be the blue screen of death?
If it is I fear you may have a hardware failiure of somesort. Please could you give us details of what the screen says? Thanks.

Blue Screen Of Death Appears After That You Computer is Restarted.That's the problem ???

It actually comes before a restart of your PC. Your PC just crashes into the blue screen of death. However he has not stated that it is the blue screen of death just mentioned something about a blue screen. So maybe it is maybe it is some other screen I have no idea about.

Here's the details. I start the game. I will go career. I will select a race. The loading screen willcome. After finishing another screen will come. But here comes The error. And one more thing, If i am only at the main menu doing nothing the error dosent come. The error says:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. The problem has been caused by the file VIDEOPRT.sys. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

That Error Never Comes When I Play NFSMW

To me it sounds like you need a new graphics card. May I ask, do you have any old graphics cards that work in your PC that meet the games requirements? IF you do try one and see what happens. If not then I think your graphics card is dying. You may want to get your PC checked on a diagnostic or something.

It's possible that the game sends some faulty graphics message that the video card's software and/or hardware isn't catching before issuing a command, causing the problem. You could try an older driver to see if the results are changed or fixed.
