Call of Duty: World at War Message Board  

I have just bought this game and i have installed it on my computer but it is not working i run the game suddenly the game pops out and the console appears and says some thing i have tried upgrading my DirctX and video Driver but it didn't work please someone help.

System Specs Please?

Video Card: 9500 GT 1 G.B

Ram:2 g.b

Cpu: Dual core 3000

I don't see why this game won't work.

Oh and the message i am getting is Error during initialization.

Get A Screen Shot Of That Error And Upload It May Be I Can Help You.

First,
What is the operating system in use?

Second,
You said;

Is that AMD Athlon X2 3000?
Or is the "3000" the megahertz at which it operates?

Third,
Is your operating system updated?
(ie. hotfixes, updates, patches, etc.)

( Not just "Windows Update/Microsoft Update" )

what error does it give? mentions that and than problem can be solved

I use a windows xp service pack 2 and the Cpu 3000 is the megahertz and my system is updated with a hotfix and updates but none is related to the game also the error message is the following:

Error during initialization

Tow of my friends got the same error message in it is really getting on my nerves i hope this is enough.

I think the problem might be sound settings on your computer.

I've seen a few people getting this "Error during initialization" message. A solution I found for Vista may be helpful.

On Vista,
After applying the 1.2 CoD:WaW patch, my sound did not work.

I got an "Error during initialization" message.

Changing my system sound quality from:
24-bit, 192000Hz (Studio Quality)
to
16-bit, 48000Hz (DVD Quality)
fixed the issue.

On XP, maybe the same system sound issue is preventing the game from working properly.

Try lowering the sound quality on your system.
