my sims 2 on the pc has installed but whenever i try to install any of my expansion packs they wont install, when it comes to checking whether the product is up to date afterwards it says it hasnt installed properly then terminates the installation. i have checked online and i meet the system requirments, i have a windows vista laptop which is new so i dont understand why it is not working. i have even tryed downloading patches from the sims 2 wensite but you need to insure its up to date to install so i have the same problem there.

Yes I know. Vista uses a new protection method that asks for administrative comfirmation even if you are the only and administrator user. Now for making sure that this is your problem, does it ask you for comfirmation (A window that appears with Allow and Cancel or Continue and Cancel buttons while darkening background(you should have seen this sometimes)) when starting the installation?
Even if so try this: Open your disk drive (right click --> Explore) and then right click on Setup.exe file and select "Run as Administrator"
Hope it helps you.
