They didn't let you for some reason. You have to restart its a pain in the ass.

err, it only takes an hour to finish a campaign. why would you need to save?

Well yes, it takes an hour to play a campaign in the singleplayer mode on expert. Play it online on Expert even with your friends it's much harder than with the NPC kicking ass in singleplayer mode. Took us a few days to complete the 4 campaigns on expert.
