Well, it seems I am pretty stupid, I can't seem to get past what seems a VERY simple step in the gam

Well, it seems I am pretty stupid, I can't seem to get past what seems a VERY simple step in the game, I am guessing you have to use the ring to run across the wall and jump to the other side, but I can't seem to get it, every time I try I end up just landing in the water. Any tips?

Never mind, turned out to be my controller that was giving me trouble.
