Civilization 4 Message Board  

i change the line to cheatcode = chipotle, but when i try to save the file it will not let me save. tried microsoft word 2007, works word processor and other programs also. is there a certain program that will work to save the civ4config file in the correct format??

Generally when editing a config file for any game it is better to use notepad. Word sometimes will try to change file extension. There might also be some formating issues that will not allow you to save in other than word format.

I am not a word expert, I do not even have it installed on my machine, but I know notepad will work as I use it all the time.
