Will this work with the GC2: Ultimate Edition?

I found a solution for the ultimate edition:

Go to the file C:\Program Files\Kalypso\GalCiv2Ultimate\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe

Make a shortcut of this exe

Add the "cheat" command line parameter to a shortcut to the application and you need to add it *outside* the quotes that enclose the application path in the shortcut.

Like this

"C:\Program Files\Kalypso\GalCiv2Ultimate\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe" cheat

then all the cheat codes form twilight of the arnor work.

Now gimme them cookies!

Didn't work for me. Whenever I try to load a game (or start a new one) it just crashes to desktop.

Well, it works for me and i mostly play with xml edits, well on the other versions anyway.

I will do the same with this game when i get it.

I too have been havin a hellofa time with the ultimate edition. I figure since the game is basically running the ver.2.02 of twilight I shouldn't have a problem? If i do i'll just use the game for coasters....cause i can't get a cheat to save my life for this version that stays up. ****er

changes it from Twilight to Dread Lords and crashes the game.

If you get the steam version, add the "cheat" text to the startup options, then you can use the Control cheats.

1. Right click on the game in your Steam library.
2. Choose "Properties"
3. Under the first "General" Tab, click on the "Set Launch Options"
4. Enter in the word: cheat
5. Click OK and get back to the main window. Run the game and the CTRL cheats will work.

I got the cheat codes to work by creating a new shortcut on the desktop and browsing to the startup exe and adding the word cheat outside the quotes. (Note you have to be at the galactic map screen to enter the CTRL-Letter cheatcode).
Here is my shortcut for a Win7 64bit Steam install:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\galactic civilizations ii - ultimate edition\Twilight\GC2TwilightOfTheArnor.exe" cheat

Once you create the new shortcut, all the cheat codes work.
