I feel as though I'm missing something... I played the tutorial but it stopped before it finished so I had to figure out most of it myself. I have a decent looking hotel but I'm extremely in the red and as time goes by it keeps getting worse and worse. Especially the restaurant, it has all sorts of complains but I can't see how to fix any of them, seems like the only option is to fire people but that doesn't seem to change anything. How's everyone else doing in it?

Hi, I saved layouts and loaded them but found that because I hadn't unlocked all the items used I had items floating in mid-air, lower room satisfaction rates and other probs.

Also, a good tip is to make the rooms (including bathrooms/changerooms) as big as possible. Customers love lots of space. Put in the highest quality items but don't overcrowd the rooms. Large bathrooms make a huge difference.

    Good luck.

I'm not really that impressed with the game though. After waiting so many years for it to be released it looks as though all they've done is add a few new textures and furniture items.

I expected to be able to save my own texture sets and also to be have a built-in design section (like in sims).

Can anyone point out any major differences that I've missed?

I don't have any problem with making money, it's just a queston of keeping the customers happy, and having no red complaints. My major problem is, I am so successful, that I wish to build another hotel, and load up my layouts to it. But although I have saved them ALL, they will not load up in another hotel environment, unlike the original Hotel Giant.
Any ideas as to why I am having this problem. I have spent Hours (and Hours) setting up my layouts, only to find I have this problem

See this is why sim games need to have a nuke option. You're customers will always turn into whiney gits so there should be a one hit fix. Kaboom!!

Hi - if you're still playing Hotel Giant 2 and having problems - then please get back to me. But first - here are some hints. I have 4 Hotels at the moment and they are all making stashes of money (without any cheats) your really have to get a feel for the game. You have to build ALL of your rooms at just the right size (not too large - not too small). Let's look at each room, starting with the restaurant. You can spend all the time you like setting up menus - but truth is - just set your restaurant style to Buffet - make sure you have about 4 best quality buffet bars available. You will still need a kitchen (small one) otherwise you will get complaints that the 'Plate is dirty' 2 Captains and 2 servers. Oh yes at the beginning of your Hotel setup, your staff will be 2 star status. You will need to increase this FAST by spending around 1000 dollars (or whatever your currency is) to increase their training . Click on the ! and look for what looks like cans on top of each other - then set the training to maximum. The higher the stars your staff have - the lower the complaints from customers. Start your Hotel by building the most common shops etc., always give around 20% discount - again, don't make them too big (or too small) Remember you can also add another restaurant (or whatever) if you need to. Make sure that as well as the usual tables and chairs - you have a reservation desk and a cashier. Without these the restaurant won't work. This is also true for your bar (you only need a reservation desk). Also, if the room has the option of other rooms within it - then you MUST build these also (like toilets). Build these common rooms BEFORE doing any guest rooms - this will attract customers who WILL return later once your guest rooms are built.
At first you'll have to spend money just to build these rooms in your first hotel. But after that - you won't need to. When you've built these common rooms and shops - then go on to putting some guest rooms in on upper floors. Make sure you have at least 1 reception desk and 1 cash desk on the ground floor so that your guests can book in and check out when they leave. Don't be too elaborate with guest rooms. Put everything in them that you think they need - if they are not happy they will soon tell you start with a few cheap items of furniture - then work your way up - don't be afraid to adjust them to suit the customers needs and wants. Remember also that each time you complete ANY type of room (whether guest room or otherwise Save it (click top right hand corner) you will then be able to use it again in another hotel of the same 'TYPE' ie classic or modern. You cannot use a modern room in a classic hotel and vice versa.
There is plenty more to tell you - get back to me if you need to know more.
