ac 97 is realtek isent it?
AC'97 indicates an on-board sound card. Depending on how old your computer is, it may not be DirectX9 compatible.
Not all games check for it, but since this is most likely an XBOX360 port, it'll want to use standardized commands. Enter DirectX.
How long are your loading times? I just started it, got past the introduction, but as soon as I'm done at the principal's office I get a loading screen that seems to last forever. I just waited 30 minutes, and it was still loading when I ended it. I can live with graphical glitches, but I've never seen anything like this before...
EDIT: Some googling told me it's a known bug. Infinite loading screen...

It is a known bug and Rockstar is putting out a patch.

There is a workaround that can be used until the patch comes out. Just run msconfig (run as administrator if in Vista) click on the Boot (or boot.ini) tab, click on advanced options, then check the maximum memory box and set the max memory to 2000 or lower. Restart and Bully will have almost no load times between scenes (depending on your computer). You can go back and uncheck the maximum memory box (if you wish to use all of your ram) and do another restart when you are done playing the game. Apparently when they ported the game over to PC they didn't expect anyone to have more than 2GB of memory. Very suprising to see this from Rockstar...

Oh my God, Rockstar. IDIOTS...
I have 4GB mem and loading times takes forever. I even thought that my mem is not enough, but the truth is that it's TOO MUCH. IDIOTS...
