"6. Every car in Africa has a GPS with the EXACT co-ordinates of where you want to go"
No there arent.
If you noticed the gps looks allways the same, no matter where you go.. car/truck/boat etc. Its your own gps allways. When you get of the vehicle and look theres no gps on board.

The most important thing i've learned about FC2? Try before you buy is ALWAYS the best option...glad I downloaded and played before I wasted my money on it. Sure, the game is pretty, but gameplay itself sucks compared to the original Far Cry. Ambience and environmental effects will only keep your interest long enough to realize that the game itself really stinks and you lose interest in the routine - and this game if full of neverending routines.
I played this abomination for a few days, hoping I would eventually run into some redeeming qualities..which I never did. The trainer at lest gives it some additional playability, and I'll keep it installed in case the mod community can come up with something worth playing - but won't touch it again otherwise. I wanted a shooter, not a driver / road warrior type game.
Problems? Playing in DX10 bombs to the desktop after an hour or two of playing. I'm supposedly a seasoned merc, yet I can't run more than 20 paces or manage to kill anyone with an automatic weapon an arm's length away unless I headshot them. No matter what vehicle I'm driving, it's the slowest in the game. The only way there's more than a few hours worth of gameplay is because they take into account you have to drive / walk / crawl / swim at least 3/4 the way across the game map for every mission or objective. During these hellishly slow travels, you will have to go through countless checkpoints full of bad guys. Blow through the checkpoints, get about 100 meters on the other side of them (if they don't mysteriously catch up to you almost instantly and run you off the road), mount the vehicle weapon and wait. Every one of them will come straight for you. Every time.
I (along with all of my other gaming friends) waited patiently for this to be released. We're in Europe, so the game was released in the states first (as always), and we torrented our copies with the intention of buying when available here to play online like we do with everything else. Needless to say, this game was a HUGE disappointment to us all.
Talking about dropping the ball on soooo many levels...and a console port at that? Pass...

I know its been awhile since i played the first far cry but if i recall wasnt there mutated monsters in that one and again i know its been awhile but wasnt the end of the game kinda a cliff hanger like yeah you stopped the evil forces from mutating all the humans and animals on the island but wasnt the main guy infected or something like that and he was turning into a monster him self or What? Thats what i remember from the first one. Now correct me if i am wrong on that, God knows i play some many freaking games they are all starting to run together in my head but i think i may be right on this one and if that is the case, where in the hell is this story line heading too, cause right now i see a very in rich and beautiful environment but if i wanted to be a mercenary for hire i would play Mecs 2 at least you can blow entire building all to hell here u barely scratch a metal shack i mean WTF?!
ANy way let me know if im right or wrong on the first game? Thanks....

Viscera, you are actually correct about this. The first game was indeed about an ex Navy SEAL who gets dragged into a bad situation. There was indeed some nutty psycho doctor who makes the mutant apes and they basically go ape S*** on everyone. So part 2 really diverts from the original story. Actually 2 and 1 have NOTHING in common.
Hope this helps.

Seems like its all been said....
I'm glade I didn't buy this game.... I think I have %23-25 of the story done and already I'm bored. I'd say the game map would have been perfect for Crysis....
Here is what I see Ubisoft doing, They will make a Far Cry 3 to fix all the shortcomings of 2 (think Halo 2), I see them making another Myst game using the new engine....
Well I think it's time to play some more Spore while I wait for C&C Red Alert 3 to download. I really don't see myself buying another game without first downloading it unless it's HL2 EP3 or Unreal 3.
Really all we need is for 3drealms to mix the Dunia (plants look real!), Cry(physics) and Source(physics) engines up a bit and release Duke Nukem Forever! Mhwuhahahahaha.....
