Sorry to post this on here- but i can't seem any guides anywhere and i am new in terms of overclocking as i don't want to ruin my set up. I am running: Abit IP35 Pro Intel Q6600 quad core SLACR (2.4ghz per core) Crucial Balistix 8500+ Ram Tuniq Tower CPU Cooler BFG 8800GTX OC Antec truepower quattro 850W (the one with yellow stripes) 500gb HDD DVD rom Lightscribe writer all housed in an Antec 900 with 3x120mm fans and 200mm fan
How can i up my cpu to a stable value around 2.7-3.0ghz- baring in mind i aren't entirely up to speed in the overclocking department so step by step guide would be appreciated

Go to www.overclocking.net and look around there its great for information i have my q6600 at 3.8 on water all because of that site

Over clocking is not a good way to play better...
I Suggest u to make All of Option Low...
Specially Resolution and Physics..

its not gonna make you play better but it will unleashe the best performance out of you machine you can get

if you have the proper cooling there is not much risk to overclocking....and a thermal temperature display for your cpu would come in handy too

thanks guys- i've managed to clock my cpu up to 3.0Ghz just by raising my FSB slightly- and the tuniq tower certainly handles the cooling
one of those temperature displays would be useful but all the ones i've seen are £60+
