I've made it to the beach , have my squad at the wall but can't find a way to move forward. Help please

this is the beach at tarawa. cleared the pier etc. what have i missed?

Me too - stuck there. Can see checkpoint and even jumped onto pier, but still cant activate anything??

depends on which part. The Tawarar right at the start, or the end one. The end one, keep following the beach, sticking to da walls. At the frist mission, you HAVE to die

I had the same prob. But I ended up under the pier [for cover] In the crouched position, I made may way down the beach wall taking out anything that moved and finally made it to the other end that had a blown out section in the wall....

OMG NO NO!!! U MUST ACCPET DEATH AT THAT FIRST MISSION, THE GAME'S STORY MODE CAN'T CONTIUE UNLESS U DIE SO GAME MAY PROCEED!! i know its wired but it says something like * years earlier(forgot year number) so u don't get on that mission for reals till like far ingame

Yes, in the first Tarowa mission, you have to die for the game to continue. There is no way to win it.
