I agree that the steering system is a BIT slow (about a tenth of a second, but that can mean everything), but I found that over time, I just got used to it.

Just got the game! The game really is fantastic when it comes to graphics.
And yes, the steering option gets well solved by using the trainer. Just raise/lower the handling options according to your convinence.

yeah, the steering is definitely twitchy. Took a lot of tweaking the controls to get to a point where I got comfortable. What sucks is how the game AI never seems to be out of contention even when you manage to build a decent lead over the last place car, somehow cars way in the back manage to catch up and beat you if you make a small mistake, which is easy to do with the twitchy steering. Damage is easily taken as well, which strangely affects your car MUCH more than it does the AI drivers. Go figure. I used the trainer to finish the game to unlock the cheat options menu, but you don't earn points or cash when you win races with the cheat options enabled (like invincible mode). It's a great game to play in multiplayer mode over the LAN because there are no AI drivers. I play against my teenage son every now and then, and he always leaves me in the dust, but not nearly as badly as the AI drivers do in career mode. Great game for the visual eye candy and quite good for head to head racing, but lousy game otherwise.
