Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Message Board  

I installed COD 4 again and put in my profile. The levels and arcade mode are unlocked but the Intel cheats that I unlocked by finding them all is locked. Any ideas of why they aren't unlocked?

You can unlock them yourself, actually. Go to Activision/Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare/\players\profiles\YOURPROFILEHERE and open config.cfg. (NOT CONFIG_MP.CFG)

Find the entry "cheat_points" (you can use CTRL+F to find it) and change the value to 30. You have all intel points now.

I checked that file and it was already set to 30, since I found all 30 intel pieces before I saved my profile. Could the problem be that I found these pieces in v1.0 of the game and since I updated the game to v1.6 as off now the game doesn't accept it?

That sounds like maybe

You could always try setting it back to 0, and restarting the game, play a level or 2, then shut down and put it back to 30. That might just trick it into resetting.

Okay I just installed the game again, and updated it ti v1.7, and played it and got all the intel pieces, but the CHEATS option is locked and when I finished the game I got the message saying that it was unlocked.
