teleporter problems

I may not be doin it right but I cant seem to get my teleporters to work right. I've tried to drop the magnasite in but it doesn't work either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

open your inventory and dubble click on the teleporter and it should be placed on the ground so you can use it.
