Just tried this one today with the Destinations addon, and none of the options worked. (Running original 1.0, nothing else.) Would be neat to see a real working trainer.

Not that strange really. As you may have noticed it says that the trainer is for the Society Deluxe version, which is a version with both the original game and the expansion.
My guess is that it's like with SimCity 4. SC 4 with added Rush Hour Expansion was not the same as the Deluxe version.
So for this trainer to work you'll probably have to get yourself a copy of the Deluxe version of SimCity Society.

Or they could just make a trainer for the Destinations version as well.
