I bought Assassin's Creed via Steam, and I cannot get the Trainer to work at all. I assume I'm running the 1.02 version (how can you really tell? there's no version number in-game that I can see) of the DX9 game...seeing as Steam seems pretty good at automatically updating things. I even tried getting the EXEs from GameCopyWorld and replacing the ones in the Steam apps folder for Assassin's Creed...but still I don't hear the "Activated" sound and the trainer clearly isn't working.
Has anyone gotten this to work on the Steam version of AC, or it even possible?

Playing second time through right now. I have the steam version and the trainer works great. No problems. I do not activate the trainer until I load my latest memory. I pause the game, hit F1 then it is active and ready for use. Also, when first starting the game the first time I did not try to activate the trainer until after you are stripped of rank and given the first mission. Make sure you are not using the DX10 version. Just follow the trainer trouble shooter for ways on fixing your issue. Firewalls and antivirus are usually the problme.
