    Does anyone have any of the saved tactics.ini files in which the Angelwing is a beastly ship, basically invulnerable? I just found the game, dug it out of my shelves, and am trying to just enjoy the storyline without getting stressed about the missions' difficulty. I'd really appreciate any help in this regard. I've been fooling with the .ini files, but can't figure out which are the good attributes to change. Adding in absorb doesn't seem to work as well as I remember a few years back when I first played the game.

    Any help would be great. Thanks.

    Editing the max support power, the power regeneration, and HP and armor all work really well. Plus modifying the speed makes a lot of missions a lot quicker and easier. Plus editing Cromwell himself to have 99 of each stat really gives him a major boost and makes all your weapons for any ship he is on super accurate and super damaging. The Ronin almost gets completely blown up by a single Uranium GG shot, and the OSEC Longsword fight is over basically as soon as you arrive.

    Where do you find, of get, the tactics.ini file?

    You need to extract nexus_00.dat using daTool.
    Here is a good FAQ how to do it:

    And here is a little info about what you can do inside tactics.ini:

    ok, forgive for sounding like a complete retard, but I cannot get the datool.exe to work. I have tried everything listed on the website, and it won't work. My copy has a no-cd patch integrated into it, and I'm wondering if that has any effect. Step-by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

    Assuming you are using Win XP:

    1. Copy datool.exe to your Nexus directory.

    2. Go: Start -> Run -> type: cmd -> Enter.

    3. In Command Console type: cd [patch to your Nexus dir] - for example cd C:\Program Files\Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, then hit Enter.

    4. Check if you are in right directory.

    5. Type datool x nexus_00.dat -> hit enter.

    6. After extraction move nexus_00.dat to backup dir (or it will overrule your changes) and play with files

    This should work... Well... It works for me

    Thanks, just one more thing. Once you've un-extracted everything and edited it, where do you put all of it? Also, i I tried leaving the files the way they are, and when I start Nexus, None of the changes are there. What did I do wrong, if anything?

    Did you MOVE nexus_00.dat away from Nexus main dir? If this file and extracted folders are present, the game will load from nexus_00.dat.
    As for file placement... just leave entire folder structure in the way it was created when you used datool, dont move files anywhere.
