any chance we could get a small trainer for the demo that means you don't lose performance when you take damage or something similar?

Yeah... a trainer with an option only: .- how-to-drive-without-crash - if you're going to crash, the trainer stops the car immediately to prevent you from damage your car. And instead the troubleshooting guide for the trainer a driving manual with tips & trick from expert drivers and Hollywood stunts.
Your best trainer is the practice.
