I'm asking if the trainers actually work. Yes, the money one works for sure...but I'm personally not convinced the "player abilities" trainer changes anything except the number on the screen.

Sure, it makes all the skills SAY 20, but I don't see any noticeable difference from the crappy skills my players had and what they are now (as in, I had a guy with 3 finishing as striker, I put him up from with the cheat on so he should've been a monster, yet he misses more times than a blind man shooting at a coin a mile away).

Granted, I'm not changing my entire team as I feel that will just completely spoil the game, but if someone else could convince me that it actually effects the base attributes rather than just whats displayed, I'd feel a lot better, as it really doesn't appear to me like it does that.

actually, it does change something... for example Francesco Totti, scored in 35 games 62 goals which in reality is imposssible but there is another problem with this trainer. Its that it spoils other players which haven't been edited by editing a striker from another team (20 tackling and marking) making it a perfect sweeper... thus it works in some way but it needs lots of improvement. I am still waiting for a trainer to really work and one which adds and removes goals from your and opposite team.

you're talking about making an already great player greater...I'm talking about I started in the Scottish third division...my players didn't have high attributes to begin with...and I really can't see anywhere near a noticeable difference...

well, I tried with Doni, whos an "OK" goalkeeper and he got stil many goals in so it doesn't really work. Like you say if you did with a third league team and it didn't work out then there something wrong with these trainers. Did the money work for u? For me it didnt...

the benefit I seen from using this trainer HAD it worked properly (as it obviously slightly increases your stats, just nowhere near full unless you're already almost there, heh) is that if you modify the database using the editing tool that comes with the game, you lose your players VERY quickly as all the best team snap up teh full skilled players.

Trainers tend to not write to the database, so although the player will be better, it won't attract the attention of other teams unwillingly.

Unfortunately, doesn't seem to work, which is a shame.

Imagine if the trainer overwrite the DB then u said that u play using Scotts team ?
Bah... in seconds, all your team will get unsettled by so many offer from so many famous teams !

Worse, U can CHANGE THEIR ATTRIBUTE again so in the end, they will become your nigtmares for your teams ! (if u manage to bring your team to premier division)
Worse, all the money u get is almost useless since u get money trainer & money is NOT A BIG PROBLEM in this game but the big problem is OUR STRIKER ABILITY TO SCORE & OUR GK ABILITY TO STOP CONCEDED GOAL again & again !

What the problem for this trainer is this trainer alter other player from other club too !
Suddenly, many of their ability became 20 & get new position as sweeper !
Worse, despite they play as sweeper, they can scored easily against alreadly our useless GK in this game !

So in the end, don't bother to alter your player ability, just use the money trainer !
At least u can still buy any decent player for your Scotts team

Trainer doesnt actually work with 8.0.2 update even using the appropiate trainer, no money added, nor do any of the stats increase...
