Star Wars: Empire at War - Forces of Corruption Message Board  

Going to start working on making a new mod file for the game just wondering what people would like to see in it. Its going to be a simply version of the one already on here. I am looking at doing just cost and build times of units and anything else i might be able to find. I am not sure how long this will take me their are 1040 files in just the config file where units info is stored. 213 files in the maps folder and i am not sure if that will get all the research or not. If anyone else would like to try their hand at this the file to get the files unpacked is on the eaw page.

If you have any questions or help you could give would be helpful.

oh and plz do be careful this is not an easy thing to undertake and it could be easy to mess up ur whole game and i can not be held accountable for you mistakes. but goodluck to all who do try and maybe we can come up with something that works.

i have a question can you make it so it works with the gold pack edition of the game.there have been some problems with the ones that are already present.

I am not sure cuz i am working with the normal exp pack of foc not the gold pak and it is most likely filed different. so unless you want to do this urself or someone with the gold pack does it, it wont work for you sorry.

it's ok thanks can you give me a quick run on what i need to do.i haven't done it before but there's always a first time.

well go to the star wars: empire at war list of cheats and download the guide to cheating inside there it will have the program you will need. put that into the data file of star wars. double click on the icon to run the program and input the file name. and then poof it will unpack it and put the file into a folder that it will make. you will see alot more files then i did most likely. i had bout 1040. with gold it will most likely be much more. maybe. dont worry you wont be going thro all of them tho.
near the bottom u will see the file type change open them with notepad or wordpad and use that to edit the file. read carefully and take you time. if you feel overwhelmed the divide up the files between factions. again be careful what you edit because once u get into the game and realized you screwed something up you may not be able to fix it without have to reinstall the whole game.

thank you but how is it that you put the mod file in data file of the game??like i said i'm just learning.

put the program on ur desktop and open the file on ur desktop and click and drag it there. or cut and paste.

how do you get to the downlod screen for file???
