Hard to be a God Message Board  

At the coast, where you get captured by the monks, after you escape you have to get through the northern post but the keep on asking for wine! I have gone to the bar, asked everyone for some wine and killed everyone at the northern post but I just can't get through the northern post!!!!

If anyone has an idea please let me know I'm really getting frustrated.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I did this quest, so don’t have all the details, so hopefully this will help.

This is in the area called Arkanar Suburbs. After you have spoken to the guards at the NE gate a character called Don Tamco turns up and after a long conversation mentions something about obtaining some specific brand of wine. If you then track back to the Innkeeper a new option appears. He doesn’t give you the wine immediately, you have to complete another quest for him, something about getting some money from a local in the village just East of the Inn. If you then return the money to the Innkeeper he gives you some other brand of wine that Don Tamco accepts when you return to the NE gate and then allows you through.

Don’t know if it makes a difference, but I was swapping between Thief and Mercenary gear during this area, but mainly the latter so I could get all the skill points.

Hmm... I've just came across this forum and I saw your prob, I've tried this game yesterday and its pretty buggy.
So the solution is rough as well but...
Here we go: The only way I managed to get on in that part is to buy a horse and than you need to jump like crazy and in time you will find a whole in the gate where you will be able to pass, like a glitch or something, than you talk to Don Tomeo or whatever is hes name and than you need to jump your way out as well, after that you'll speak with the Inn keeper as the bro mentioned before and you'll need to get a debt of 10k gold from a guy and than you'll get some yummy wine and you will be able to talk to the guard and he'll open the gate for you, so you can pass freely.
Now, I believe its best for you, I did so and it was handy, to place first 2 lvls points in Diplomacy, that way the monks will be kind to you and let you have ur cloths on and they will leave all the gold you had in the chest in their camp and you'll be able to pick it up and you can buy a horse with it.
As well as that, you'll be able to talk nicely with the guy who owes the inn keeper and you can persuade him to give you 10k, didnt try the hard way but this is surely nicier way.
Oh and about the horse jumps, dont give up, it was pretty easy with a expensive horse but I had some probs with the cheap one, it doesnt matter but its all in the chance precents, anyway, if you dont manage to get out or in after many tries just go and eat something watch a movie or so and than come back and try some more, i did the same and when i came back i passed with a first try.
Oh and don't forget, after your horse loses all stamina just dismount and mount up again and its all full waiting for you.

What you have to do is get to northern encampment, but don't kill the guards there, just ask to be let through. They'll refuse, but they'll bring their leader Don Tameo out to see you. He will give you a quest to find him a really good, expensive bottle of wine, and then he'll let you through his camp. You will find the bottle of wine back at the Inn where they sell the horses. You ask the Innkeeper if he's got any wine. He'll say yes, but he'll only give it to you, if you go collect some money that's owed him by a guy named Sabeo at the eastern village. You will have to kill Sabeo, and then his servants, and then collect Sabeo's possessions. Take the possessions back to the Innkeeper, and he'll give you the bottle. Take the bottle back to the camp and they'll let you in right away. Find Don Tameo's tent and give him the bottle, and in exchange he'll give you a full pass throughout the camp.

Thanx for the help, but my game has some kind of glitch. I go to the post then Don Tameo, or whateva, comes to me BUT he says nothing so then I talk to the guards and they ask if I'm the guy Don sent to get the wine and if I have it. Then I go to the innkeeper and they don't even mention the wine nor the mission! PLZ help!
