During singleplayer skirmish using a trainer I have noticed that the A.I on Expert appears to just give up and only makes half hearted attacks and very poor defence.

Same map and side without the trainer and the computer doesnt let-up. Its relentless!!

I love using the trainer to have unlimited troops and increase the scale of the game but there is no point if the opponent is a pushover.

Is there an issue here that can identified and fixed?

perhaps you can try leaving your resources to normal while running the trainer (don't activate the resources items such as fuel, munitions, etc.) and see if the enemy is still aggressive. if so, then the AI might be tied to the fact that you have way more resources than the enemy-
