Disable any antivirus before you run it, make sure that you have the correct version of the game. Maybe that helps too Link

Are you using DVD version, or downloaded version. If you are using downloaded (STEAM) version, like I am, Then you need to use a No CD/DVD patch, that you can get from gamecopyworld.com or someplace like that. Just download and replace you .exe shortcut with it, and then it should work.
