We really can't know that until we play both games. But there is one thing that Rockstar always does better than the other companies, the physics. The cars and player always drive and move a lot more smoothly and realistically than in other games. I don't know why no one else has managed to do the same, patent on the physics maybe?, but unless Saint's Row 2 has more realistic physics I would say GTA IV is the better one. But I'll just wait until both come out to make a true decision.
Agreed. Judging by the recent 4th trailer, the physics are once again going to become the new benchmark for 1st/3rd person action games. I mean, check how the guy being shotgun'ed in the chest rolls and falls down the stairs after getting hit, its just so natural, whereas in the original Saints Row (can't comment on SR2 as I haven't seen ANYTHING relating to it), they'd just hop back and drop, sliding ridiculously down the stairs or stopping half-way.
I'm just looking forward to a more gritty and overall realistic feel compared to say GTAIV/SA/Saints Row, all of which, to me at least, have always seemed rather cartoon-like. There are only 26 days left now, so I simply can't wait until my Special Edition version turns up for my 360. If my 360 can handle 48-hours straight of XP-whoring in R6V2, then I'm sure it can handle GTAIV.
Just what i was thinking. Red Dead Redemption and GTA are both good examples of that.
