Yesterday I installed GOW with TU patch . Opened Patch Trainer , started game. All worked well.

Today started trainer & game which took me immediately to the first Berserker confrontation. Trainer invincibility does not work.

Is it my PC or is that the way it is?

Finding the same issue against other NPC's, even when turn option off & on again. Hmmm

are you saying it worked yesterday but now it doesn't work today?

I would assume it's because the fight with the first beserker is a scripted scene where if it hits you you are scripted to die by the game. Something like a trainer doesn't always work on scripted events. Thats just my 2 cents though i can't say 100% sure why it's not working but thats jut my guess on how they made the game.
