I don't know if this has been posted here before but there is a way to play the game with the trainer, before you do this always make a backup of the file so you can reuse it again at a later date, go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries open the WarGame-G4WLive.exe and delete the line and save it when it asks you to, that's the good part, now the bad, you cant use the save system and you will have to play it until you complete the game, or until some 1 finds a way to sort this out, hope this helps.

Pretend like I've never done this before--which I haven't. Does deleting the line in the .cfg automagically configure the .exe file when the game is started?

About the trainer... Does the trainer keep you alive or can you still end up dying? If there is no way to save the game progress while using this modification to the .cfg unless god mode is "bullet-proof" it seems to be too risky. But if the trainer really keeps Marcus alive period then having to leave the game running for several days until the game is finished isn't any problem for me.

What is the problem with the console commands not working? ...With this "unrecognized class" that I get?

I believe I have the original retail version of the game. There are two trainers. Where is this patch located? Wouldn't it be a good idea to patch the game and try the console commands again before trying to delete the .cfg line and using the trainer?

Where is this patch? And once patched with the existing save game work with it? For game play do I need the patch?
